"The Function Of Life" was written & recorded in early summer of 2020. It was never my soul intention to create a more "space like" ambient body of work. The three rather longish pieces were formed within about two weeks and seemed to have a relationship or connection in some way.

I became conscious of their somewhat ethereal or other worldly trajectory but was also mindful to try to avoid being heavy handed with over used "Space Ambient" cliche's, a challenge indeed!

I tried to focus on the relationship of the sonic canvas and the movement of musical ideas that have a certain compositional value rather than just a strong sonic aesthetic or technical complexity that may not warrant multiple listens.

I hope i have succeeded in creating something that is both pure sonic escapism yet hasn't forgot to touch the various emotional sides of the listener.

The album was released through Fantasy Enhancing records in early autumn of 2020. It seemed to please fans of my FAXology album and other Fax artists and in some ways I do see it as perhaps a sequel to my debut on the influential label.

No-nonsense selection of quality ambient/drone tracks, each crafted using unique recipe. Some are pastoral, some are more spacey, plenty of them utilize damaged field recs and warm, organic textures.
