Ness Alyza Wow. Just wow. This collection is straight from the heart and soul. Such diverse musical styles, yet with the same magical integrity. Gives me goosebumps.. seems like nostalgia from other realities, so raw, so perfect in its way, I think this is my favorite album so far, just because it has that timeless freedom, which resonates in the purity of the soundscapes. Uncompromising towards outward pressures it seems, it is as it is meant to be. Mick Chillage never ceases to amaze me! Favorite track: Over Dubbed [2001].

DoubleRR Well, this is an interesting collection showcasing Mick's oeuvre.
'Menace' is quite the proverbial Dennis, and 'Evening Sun' has all the groove needed for this last (weekend of September) Summer 2021 mini-heatwave before Autumn falls. 'Over Dubbed' is fun too, and 'Pause For Thought' sits cleverly in the sequence. And then there are the 'ceed tracks ;o)
But all have that Chillage trait, and this is only V1! Favorite track: Evening Sun [2014].

Pol Cousineau Another set of lovely tracks from the maestro. I wasn't sure what to expect from this album and I was delighted! It is very energizing and diverse. Favorite track: Marvels Of Space [2002].

about

Orphaned tracks Vol 1 is part of a series of unreleased tracks, lost & found tracks, unfinished ideas etc, that cover a spectrum of electronic music genres.

Listening back now I would have a arranged and mixed some of these differently but in many cases I do not have the original kit or audio parts to return to them.

Most of the tracks within the series were recorded sometime after 1998.

I expanded my studio beyond the Roland MC303 which I used extensively between 1996 to 1998. The music contained have been written/recorded between 1998 right up to recent years, so expect quite a difference in both musicality & production values.

I have mastered the tracks to garner a coherent balance where possible.

Some pieces I found only have one recording, or a rough mix draft were I planned to go back and work further but never did & then eventually the equipment I used to make the original had become no longer part of my set up.

Many of these tracks came about during sessions for a particular album but either didn't fit the running time restrictions or just felt a little out of place or the record label felt it did not suit the aesthetic but I still have love for many these.

Others came about from a jam with a new piece of equipment and I just hit record. Some are ideas I had but could never develop them further and got left behind.

I feel a time has come to share these lost moments, ideas, sketches that show various moments of my development as an artist which bring me to where I am today, a somewhat focused creator with more discipline and an aesthetic that I think I can now call my own.

Click on each track to see a little bit of info on each piece if interested.

I hope you enjoy these pieces that you can maybe use to make your own playlists.
