"Nocturnes Resonatiae" was created in early November 2020.
the inspiration came from experimenting with the Moog Grandmother
very late at night. Through various patching and tweaking a rather bell like tone emerged from the synth I played some various notes and added reverbs & delays it seemed to feel like distant yet eerie church like bells ringing in the distance.

This lead me to experimenting further with my two poly synths the Prophet Rev 2 where I found another sharper bell like tone, some further editing lead me to a more distinct ringing sound, I played some improvised keys and captured a passage that complimented the eerie Moog elements.

Some more polyphonic moments from the Supernova II added a moody sustained string like section and a rather ominous deep sustained bass drone that you feel as much as you hear. other elements, strange modulated Moog & Korg MS20 added further mysterious tones with subtle movements.

I feel the piece conjures the early hours of a still night, perhaps in a city and the various mysterious sounds that emanate in the distance or right where you sleep as various devices continue to function through the night.

This piece is open to the imagination of you the listener in whatever way you want to interpret it.
